Good morning Valued Subscriber,
Australia's four gold medals in the early hours of Thursday morning was our greatest Olympics day and cemented Paris as our greatest Games. And at skateparks, athletics fields, swimming pools and just about anywhere kids play sport, the excitement was real yesterday. Lucy Arundell spoke with a group of kids with dreams of Brisbane, as well as one of the legends of Aussie sport, Rob de Castella, who knows days like yesterday will inspire our next generations of stars.
After Wednesday's revelations of potentially millions of dollars wrongly paid by ACT Health for IT contracts, Lucy Bladen reports there's pressure for more audits to be released. And continuing a rough week for the ACT government, Sarah Lansdown reported on an apology to Canberra school students who were given lubricated medical probe covers instead of condoms as part of a safe sex pack. Over in Paris, Australia will play for gold in the women's water polo tournament later tonight after a stunning shootout win over the United States. After a few days in the negatives, it was a balmy minimum of 2 degrees overnight and today will be a top of 16 with a little cloud. John-Paul Moloney, managing editor |
