Disheartening report: At its peak, Wednesday's storm packed a punch that New Orleans' archaic pumping system would have struggled to handle even if it had been working perfectly. But an after-action report released by the Sewerage & Water Board on Friday outlined some critical power failures that contributed to flooding in neighborhoods around the city. Changing constitution: The Louisiana Legislature will soon begin to tackle a proposed rewrite of the state constitution, one that would put sections that govern the state’s judiciary — including rules for state appeals courts, parish district attorneys and the Judiciary Commission — under the control of legislators, not a popular vote. Tyler Bridges has the details. Pride on the northshore: The Mandeville City Council has granted a permit for what organizers say will be the first Pride parade on the northshore. The decision was not without discussion, and Bob Warren was there amid a packed council chamber.
