New laws aim to support girls, women in STEM The newly enacted Inspiring the Next Space Pioneers, Innovators, Researchers and Explorers Women Act directs NASA to present plans to two congressional committees for connecting staff with girls studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics in elementary and secondary schools. The Promoting Women in Entrepreneurship Act directs the National Science Foundation to support programs that help women obtain jobs in STEM fields.
