Opioid overdose deaths are on the increase across the nation, and Michigan hasn't escaped the growing health emergency. Of the nearly 3,000 overdose deaths in Michigan in 2017, 71 percent were opioid related. In fact, opioid OD deaths last year were nearly triple the number recorded in 2012.
