Peanut, the world’s oldest living chicken from Michigan, has died at age 21 |
Farewell, Peanut: The world’s oldest chicken has died at the age of 21, after living a long and eventful life in Michigan. Peanut’s owner, Marsi Parker Darwin announced on a blog post on Wednesday, Dec. 27, that she had died in her sleep in the early hours of Monday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day. "Weird Duck Time": While many birds fly south for the winter, the Great Lakes has a surge of waterfowl where more than 30 species of northern ducks, geese and swans return to the region. Weekend forecast sees snow returning to Michigan |
Winter weather: Things are going to get a bit more wintry as we end 2023. Southern and central Lower Michigan can expect scattered showers throughout Friday. New Year’s Eve will see the return of snow chances across Michigan. Forecast: Rain, snow and sunshine could all be possible in North Michigan this weekend. Scattered snow showers will be around until the afternoon on New Year’s Eve and the Upper Peninsula will continue to see snow showers throughout Sunday. Shock waves: A 2.4 magnitude earthquake was reported near the U.S.-Canada border near Corunna, Canada on Wednesday. The city is in Ontario across the St. Clair River near St. Clair and Marysville in St. Clair County. |
