Expecting more: State and federal officials hoped to convict 14 men suspected of plotting to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. The results were disappointing, based on traditional conviction rates.

UAW practice pickets Stellantis headquarters as rolling strike on Big 3 continue

The United Auto Workers filled the sidewalk Wednesday across from the entrance to Stellantis headquarters for a "practice picket" as a strike on Detroit’s Big Three automakers continues, following the expiration of the union contract on Sept. 14.

 

Drive slow: We rounded up some of the major construction-related closures scheduled for or near this weekend across the state.

 

Furry friends: Five puppies learning to be assistance dogs had a howling good time during a training exercise at Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

Michigan’s weekend weather is another winner for outside fun, projects

Weekend weather: Even though afternoons are going to warm into the 70s this weekend, the mornings will still require a light jacket. The weekend forecast of rain areas shows no rain anywhere in Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula. 

 

Speaking of up north: For the northern portion of our state, nice periods of sunshine are going to accompany the warming trend and bring us a good-weather weekend to look forward to.

This Porcupine Mountains waterfall trail is now wheelchair accessible
