A warm November with a drastic cold-snap could bring December-like lake effect snow. |
A big change is coming: The first ingredient needed for lake-effect snow is a large temperature difference between the surface water temperatures and air temperatures around 5,000 feet up. A dramatic drop in temperature, like the one that is coming later this week, can provide just the right conditions. Record warmth? Yeah, that's what I want to talk about. Thursday and Friday have the potential to be record-breaking when it comes to high temperatures. Still have leaves to rake? It might be the perfect time! (Or you can just leave them there. It's the new trend.)
