How Michigan's current coronavirus surge is different than spring -- and how it's the same Michigan is amid a surge in coronavirus cases. As the COVID-19 numbers climb, experts are looking at the differences between the new spike and the surge the state experienced at the start of the pandemic. There are some important ways in which this surge is likely to be different. Certainly, we know a lot more about COVID-19 now, including a better understanding of how the virus is spread and how to effectively treat symptoms caused by the virus. There are also some new challenges, like COVID fatigue and the concerns about the pandemic overlapping with flu season. Tens of thousands of Michiganders joined some of the groups, with moderators and fellow members assisting those with questions and concerns. Users post questions or links to new information nearly every hour, if not more.
