How might Michigan vote in November? We read the tea leaves with the experts Ten weeks from today, ballots will be cast in the 2020 general election. Plus, absentee voting in Michigan starts next month. Across the country, voters will decide a long list of races and issues, including the much-anticipated presidential contest. Pollsters spend their time in these final months trying to predict which way the votes will swing. While no one can look into the future to see exactly what will happen when the results roll in on Nov. 3, we can talk to the experts about how they see it going. We talked to six political scientists and strategists to get their educated guesses for Michigan's election results. Just remember, anything can happen in 10 weeks. But it really is true. For example, there is no road map to navigate the situation with high school sports. Athletic directors throughout Michigan are trying to figure out how to manage all of the different realities they are facing this year. Football has been moved to spring. So what does that mean for spring sports? Other fall sports are in limbo. So what do you say to your student athletes and their parents? Plus, some sports are going ahead as usual. So how do you keep those kids safe? MORE Campaign launches for Michigan ballot question to up spending on parks As we mentioned above, there are plenty of decisions for voters to make this November (to view a sample ballot, visit michigan.gov/vote). Here in Michigan, one of those decisions will involve environmental funding for improving parks. Under the ballot measure, royalties from oil and gas companies using state land would be used to improve parks across the state.
