For many senior citizens in Michigan, the coronavirus pandemic has meant isolation. Older individuals fall into the category of those most vulnerable to COVID-19, meaning any outside contact poses a threat. Even those who live in retirement communities with friends living just feet away have been forced to refrain from social interaction. Of course, visits from family members are out as well. Grandparents are especially missing hugs from grandchildren and great grandchildren. The worst part, perhaps, is the uncertainty about when the fear and isolation will end.
