Shepherd resident Kent Roth gets our vote for the Michigander with the most Halloween spirit. After all, he recruited volunteers to join him in carving a whopping 1,500 pumpkins that are all displayed in his yard. There are happy pumpkins, sad pumpkins, heart pumpkins and even a pumpkin celebrating Central Michigan University. And while 1,500 pumpkins are impressive, Roth is planning to top himself next year with a goal of 1,750 carved pumpkins. Just don't tell his volunteers. They might revolt.
