Pregnant in a pandemic: Michigan’s new moms fare better than moms in other states Jaidyn Dahn was about 4 ½ months pregnant when she lost her sense of taste and smell. A trip to an urgent care center in March confirmed her suspicions; she had COVID-19. Her doctor warned her about the dangers to her unborn baby. She could have a miscarriage or a stillbirth.
