A total of 19 people are now tasked with finding the next president of Michigan State University. Committee members include seven faculty members, four members of the MSU Board of Trustees, three alumni, two administrators, two students and the union president for support staff. The group is expected to name a new president for the university by June 2019 following the resignation of Lou Anna K. Simon earlier this year. Absent from the committee is former Michigan Governor John Engler, who is serving as interim president. State residents need not be on the committee to offer input. In fact, the university is asking the public to weigh in. MORE ►Publicizing MSU presidential finalists has downsides, consultant says |
