Majority of Americans Don’t Support Gym Reopenings Yet, According to Washington Post Survey

Despite several states allowing health clubs to reopen now, only 22 percent of Americans surveyed supported the reopening of health clubs in their states, according to a survey conducted April 28-May 3.

Planet Fitness Reports Decreased Q1 2020 Revenue Due to Effects of COVID-19

Planet Fitness’ revenue was down 14.5 percent in the first quarter of 2020, despite starting the year with “good momentum,’ according to CEO Chris Rondeau. The company, which released its financials this week, blamed the decrease on the temporary mandated club closures caused by COVID-19.

Nautilus Reports Strongest Quarter in 18 Months Due to Increase in Home Equipment Sales During COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 stay-at-home orders helped to increase Nautilus Inc.’s first quarter sales as more people purchased home fitness equipment, but the mandated temporary closure of health clubs due to the pandemic caused a decline in sales of Octane Fitness products, which are part of the company’s retail segment, the company shared.
