She was born to a very wild and precocious feline that roamed the neighborhood’s back yards. Not being a cat person, my self-appointed role was to capture her and hand her over to the vet. With some concern, our family seemed to accept the fact that this kitten might continue her mother’s reproductive cycle. Occasionally, I spoke soft, affectionate words to this adorable fur ball as she ran and jumped the fence to escape from me. Then, after a three-day weekend trip away from home, we walked into the living room and found the untamable kitten at the glass patio door. She peeked in while gently holding a newborn in her mouth.
