This year, Discovery and 947 want to make moving on a bike fun, easy and feel-good for everyone! Whatever your move, there’s a race you can join to be a part of Joburg’s most iconic cycle event:

Up for a challenge? Take on the Discovery 947 Ride Joburg

Back by popular demand, you’ll get to ride last year’s flipped route that spans approximately 94.7 km of thrilling Joburg terrain. This epic cycle race takes place on Sunday, 17 November and starts at Riversands Commercial Park. Entries close: 4 October

Want something more do-able? Try the Discovery 947 Vitality Short Ride

Know anyone who’s keen to join the fun, but on a smaller scale? This year, Discovery is opening the event up with a new, shorter route of 40 km – so more people of all levels of skill and fitness can now be a part of this epic Joburg event! The route offers more people the chance to own Joburg at their own pace. Encourage your friends, family and colleagues to enter and experience the joy of cycling through vehicle-free city streets. Entries close: 16 October.

Foster a love for active play with the Discovery 947 Ride Joburg Kids Ride

Even barely-off-training-wheels beginners are welcome at the Kids Ride, set for Saturday 9 November. The ride offers a variety of closed-off routes within Steyn City for age groups 2 to 10. The routes are safe and tailored to all skill levels – making it a great opportunity to include younger kids in an active adventure and instil an early love for outdoor sports. Entries Close: 16 October.

Moving others through kindness

Thanks to the funds raised last year for CANSA we were able to keep our care and support services for cancer patients on the go. That was thanks to the committed riders all moving together with a common goal – raising awareness for the work we do, and funds to help us keep doing it. This year, we’re determined to raise the bar even higher!
