Session Sneak Peeks Here’s an insider look at confirmed, interactive sessions that have us impatiently waiting for MozFest: Become an Advisor for the Cities Digital Rights Hotline! Together with the MozFest Community, the Cities Coalition for Digital Rights would like to start a Digital Rights Hotline. Cities or public servants with questions, challenges, or concerns regarding the digital rights aspects of their project/application/policy can go to this hotline for constructive feedback on their concept – policies, instruments or projects. Join this effort to create an ‘out-of-the box’ network of digital advisors for municipalities. Dialogues & Debates: Open Source & The Pandemic This live panel discussion with top names in the open source field will discuss how open source technology and principles have been a potent force in slowing the spread of a deadly virus. Firefox Eco-Mode and 1000 More Ideas for a Sustainable Internet 98% of Mozilla’s emissions come from the use of its digital products. This acknowledgement is an important step in quantifying the energy consumption of our digital infrastructure. In an interactive workshop or panel, we will discuss recent initiatives towards a sustainable internet: Mozilla’s Web Vision 2025, Branch magazine and the policy workshop on trustworthy AI, and the climate crisis. Together we will generate 1000 ideas for a more sustainable internet and conclude with reflections on how to put these ideas into action in 2021. The full schedule will be released in stages in February, and you can expect the schedule to be filled with hundreds of sessions like these that are pushing the boundaries towards more Trustworthy AI and internet health.
