If you vote in Minnesota’s presidential primary, major parties will get your name and political affiliation. That sharing of voter information has Republicans and Democrats sparring over whether changes to the new primary law are needed.
Other schools are taking note of Minneapolis’ pioneering approach to mental health care. More than 50 schools in the district have an on-site therapist. Schools nationwide are following that model, realizing mental health is as important to students’ future success as academics, as Alisa Roth reports.
Why are Minneapolis leaders barring reporters from open meetings? The Upper Harbor Terminal is a major development project in Minneapolis. But, as MinnPost’s Jessica Lee reports , the committee in charge appeared to violate state law in asking journalists to leave a recent meeting: “On Wednesday night, several dozen members of the public observed the meeting, including journalists from the Star Tribune, Minnesota Public Radio and MinnPost. Midway through the gathering, committee members requested reporters not take photographs or record the discussion — a request that violates Minnesota’s Open Meeting Law.
