Brief cold temps before a weekend thaw. Temps will continue to stay below average on Thursday, with lows in single digits to the lower teens. Majority of Minnesotans say yes to refugees, but Republicans aren’t happy about it. A new MPR/Star Tribune poll shows that more than half of the Minnesotans surveyed support allowing refugees to be settled in their communities. The answers came largely along the party lines, though, with the majority of Republican voters saying no to accepting refugees. Front-runner Bernie Sanders is visiting St. Paul Monday. He’ll be at the St. Paul RiverCentre Monday evening -- the night before Super Tuesday. It’s free and open to the public, his campaign says. In Minnesota, Sen. Amy Klobuchar has a slight lead over Sanders with lots of voters undecided, according to a recent MPR/Star Tribune poll. St. Paul teachers would be on strike in March.Teachers and other educators in St. Paul public schools intend to go on strike on March 10 if an agreement on a new contract isn’t reached before then. The union, which represents some 3,600 teachers, educational assistants and other staff, is seeking better pay and benefits for members, a fully staffed mental health team in every building, and additional multilingual interpreters.
