Good afternoon,
We're still in for couple of cold days as storm Darcy passes close by.
So get the heating on, wrap up warm while we bring you the latest from across the region today.

Crime investigation
In the last few weeks crime reporter Stef Hall has been conducting a study our newspaper archives, which has shown a number of people jailed for murder, manslaughter, and causing death by dangerous or careless driving who could be released in the next 10 years.
The research identified almost 70 killers that are set to be released.
As part of the investigation Stef also spoke to a Preston mum of her ordeal as it has emerged her son's murderers are among the killers facing release. You can read the full interview here.

Drug dealer jailed
Sandra Sharrock was arrested in June last year as part of a week-long drugs crackdown operation by Chorley and South Ribble Neighbourhood Task Force.

Tributes paid to mum who battled cancer
A mum who urged young women to 'listen to their bodies' after being diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer sadly passed away over the weekend.
Her family announced publicly on February 6 that she sadly passed away over the weekend.
Her partner and fiance Danny Pollitt said she was a 'special lady' and his 'soulmate'.

You can catch up with the rest of the day's news below.

Take care and stay warm.
