Each morning on Forum, I have the privilege of talking to experts and having rich and thoughtful conversations about the topics of our times. There are so few opportunities for people with different life experiences and perspectives to converse with one another, and I am proud that Forum provides a space for our community to do so. This type of community-focused journalism is one of the great strengths of public media.
After 28 years as host of Forum, I will be retiring next month. The show will continue on, and I look forward to listening to the inspiring discussions from a new perspective as a member of the audience. But before I go, I hope you will join me in supporting KQED in the winter radio pledge drive that is kicking off today. I have many fond memories of my time at KQED. Interviewing cultural and political figures from Wayne Thiebaud to Maya Angelou to President Barack Obama means that I am always learning and, most of all, listening. We at KQED know how important it is to you to listen uninterrupted. To ensure minimal interruptions, we are once again making a promise to end our radio pledge drive as soon as we meet our goal.
This drive our goal is $1,500,000. These donations will sustain the programs you listen to every day and also provide the funds we need to develop new programs.
