Every dog has his day: Here’s to the bravest dog on July 4th When Fourth of July fireworks are going off, most dogs are quick to retreat to beneath the couch or a closet. Others will bark at the fireworks in an attempt to scare them off. But one dog from Tennessee did something else entirely that fateful night: He saved his entire family and their neighbors from a house fire next door. During the later part of the evening, Roux woke her family up with frantic barking and jumping. After her family was out of bed, she guided them to the window where they could see the flames on their neighbors' house. Immediately, they ran to the neighbor’s front door and got them and their pets outside in just the nick of time. Then, both neighbors teamed up and used a garden hose to quench the flames until the fire department arrived. Nobody was hurt, no pets were injured and the damage to the neighbor’s home was minimal. Good girl, Roux! Dogs don’t just help fight fires, they can help fight crimes too. Tap or click here to discover the dogs that have a nose for sniffing out crime. → |
