Over the past decade, Hyperallergic has become the standard bearer for what a cultural publication should be: tart, questioning, pugnacious, uplifting.

While many art magazines have devolved into bland trade publications focused on the ebb and flow of transnational markets, Hyperallergic remains focused on the ways in which artists are reflecting and creating community and history, from the street level.

Every time I look at it, I know I will learn something. That is what makes it crucial reading.
