NBN Co, the company rolling out Australia's national broadband network, the NBN, has recorded a loss of $4.1 billion for the full-year 2018, according to results announced on Thursday.

Rural and regional NBN customers will have to pay an extra $20 for 50/20Mbps plans they take on fixed wireless, according to a statement made to parliament's Joint Standing Committee on the NBN on Wednesday.

Telstra has suffered a sharp fall in profits for the second year running, with the big telco hit with a 9% fall in net profits for the full-year 2018 to $3.5 billion, according to results released today.
