Nordic Development Fund
The evaluation concluds that NDF has overall delivered on its mandate in terms of its activities and adds value from an international perspective. Furthermore, the evaluation notes that NDF is a highly respected organisation and compares well with other organisations in its professionalism, flexibility, ability to move quickly and decisively, openness to new ideas and willingness to innovate.
The evaluation was requested by the Board of Directors of NDF to get an independent input to strategic decisions on the future direction of NDF.
Local fishers, hoteliers, restauranteurs and their families along the vulnerable coastline of the Gulf of Montijo in Panama are being negatively impacted by climate change but through the Pescadora project they’re working at every level of society to adapt and become more resilient.
The Minister of Energy of Benin, the honourable Mr Dona Jean-Claude HOUSSOU, visited the Nordic Development Fund. The purpose of the meeting was to take stock of the long and fruitful collaboration between NDF and Benin and to discuss potential new opportunities.
“We already knew that women are leading the clean energy transition in Africa and now we can point to an EEP Africa portfolio that says the same thing,” said EEP Africa Fund Manager and NDF Program Manager, Charles Wetherill.
The Nordic Climate Facility’s 9th call for proposals (NCF 9) was open for applications for three months between 5 June and 9 September 2019. In total, 288 applications were submitted through the online application system. This is the largest amount of applications in NCF's history.
The Nordic Development Fund (NDF) finances climate change interventions in low-income and lower-middle-income countries. As the joint development finance institution of the Nordic countries — Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden — NDF gives a strong voice to Nordic values and priorities in its cooperation with the other development institutions.
