Nearly 400 single family rentals are planned for Lafayette. It may hardly move the needle on the demand

By ADAM DAIGLE | Acadiana Business Editor

Good morning, Acadiana. Thanks for reading us this morning.

The big single family rental development planned for Youngsville that I wrote about last week was just the start. Two others are in the works, which means about 400 rental homes will hit the market by the end of 2023. It's a very popular concept nationwide right now, but in Lafayette, the demand is so great for rental properties, all those houses may hardly make a dent. And with the cost of a typical home escalating along with interest rates for a mortgage, the market may become flooded with renters.

You can read the story here.

Have a great day and see you back here Wednesday morning.
