Stat of the Day 3.6%: The unemployment rate in May, one of the lowest rates in the last half-century. However, the U.S. added only 390,000 jobs last month, the lowest growth rate since April 2021. A decline in jobs is one factor in determining a recession, so it’s worth monitoring that figure.
