Sanative Fest 2021 Co-Presented by Nuestra Comunidad Development Corporation and Celebrity Series of Boston | View in browser
In collaboration with Nuestra Comunidad Development Corporation, Neighborhood Arts is presenting three free outdoor concerts as part of Sanative Arts Fest 2021, a new summer series at Bartlett Station in Nubian Square, Roxbury.
The summer series sees performances from vocalist and quatro player Fabiola Méndez who you may remember from our Celebrity Series at Home digital programming; Mozambican guitarist and vocalist Albino Mbie who made his Celebrity Series debut at our 2019 public performance project, Concert For One; and 3nity, Boston's first all-female Latin band!

Vocalist and cuatro player Fabiola Méndez and her trio -- Juan Maldonado on bass and Miguel Martínez on percussion -- sustained us through the pandemic with a couple of amazing digital concerts.
Fabiola Méndez is a standout on the Puerto Rican cuatro, a ten-stringed instrument similar to a guitar but shaped like a violin. She and her trio have created a sound that blends folkloric music, jazz, and Latin styles; they take Puerto Rico’s beloved traditional instrument to new places.

Mozambican guitarist and vocalist Albino Mbie and his quartet bring the perfect soundtrack for a summer afternoon to Nubian Square. Building on Afro-Pop, Moz-jazz, and American styles, Albino Mbie blends global sounds and energies together for a smooth, feel-good musical experience.
Albino Mbie made his Celebrity Series debut as a solo artist in Concert for One, a project that gave 60-second concerts to one listener at a time.
We can’t wait to hear him in a full-length concert with his quartet. Don’t miss the fun!

Boston’s first all-female Latin band, 3nity unites African, Latin, and American styles and influences, allowing the women of 3nity to share their whole selves and their joyful virtuosity.
Members come from Brazil, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and beyond, and they celebrate the African roots that run through so much Latin music. 3nity performs originals, jazz standards with their own twist, and favorites from across the Americas.

What time is each event?
Each event will run from 1pm-5pm ET. Music begins at 3:00pm, and there will be food trucks and other happenings throughout the afternoon.
How do I get there? Where can I park?
Each event is located at Bartlett Station in Roxbury's Nubian Square. Parking will be available along Washington Street. Bartlett Station is a 5 minute walk from the Dudley Station bus stop and 10 minute walk from the Orange Line's Ruggles Station stop.
