Netflix has just raised its subscription fees again

It's the eighth increase across various tiers since 2014

Netflix has once again increased the price of some of its subscription plans.

For Netflix members in the U.S., this means a $3 monthly increase for Premium, taking it to $23 a month.

While the Basic plan is no longer available for newcomers to the service, existing subscribers will now have to pay $12 a month, up from $10.

However, there’s good news for those on the Standard and Standard with Ads plans, as those tiers stay at $15.49 and $7 a month, respectively.

Netflix subscribers in the U.K. and France are also seeing an increase in fees.

The video streaming giant announced the changes at the same time that it released its latest quarterly data revealing 8.8 million new subscribers, a significant jump that it largely attributed to its crackdown on password sharing. The service now has 247 million subscribers globally ...

Stunning image shows annular solar eclipse from 1 million miles away

A NASA satellite captured an unusual view of last weekend's celestial event

You probably heard about the annular solar eclipse that cast a lunar shadow over parts of the U.S. last Saturday.

The rare alignment caused a spectacular “ring of fire” that garnered plenty of attention on social media and various news outlets the following day.

But this week NASA shared a remarkable image (top) of the same celestial event as seen from a million miles away. It clearly shows a darkened area over the U.S., caused by the moon’s shadow as our nearest neighbor slid briefly between Earth and the sun.

It was captured by the EPIC (Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera) imager on board DSCOVR (Deep Space Climate Observatory), a satellite jointly operated by NASA, NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), and the U.S. Air Force that was launched by SpaceX in 2015 ...

Tesla announces date for first Cybertruck delivery

The automaker led by Elon Musk will hold a special event next month

Tesla has finally revealed the delivery date for the Cybertruck: Tuesday, November 30.

The event will take place at Tesla’s Cybertruck Gigafactory in Austin, Texas.

If previous Tesla launches are anything to go by, the long-awaited event will likely involve a party-like atmosphere with Musk handing the first Cybertrucks to the initial customers. The CEO might even pull a few dance moves, too.

As of this summer, almost 2 million orders had reportedly come in for the Cybertruck since it was first unveiled in 2019.

The Tesla chief said the automaker is targeting output of around 250,000 Cybertrucks per year, but added that it’s unlikely to happen until after 2024.

Wednesday’s delivery announcement has been a long time coming. The Cybertruck’s development has faced various delays along the way, causing it to miss its original 2021 target date ...
