We tried to contain our excitement about Solange coming to the show. We promised we wouldn’t freak out. But then she accepted her Webby for Artist of the Year by singing her 5-Word Speech. And we totally swooned.
The Women’s March didn’t just take the stage, they stormed it. Linda Sarsour, Carmen Perez, and Bob Bland delivered their powerful 5-Word Speech with a group of supporters as the whole room rose to its feet for a standing ovation.
We had to re-evaluate all our friendships after Louis C.K. presented the Webby Best Actor Award to Steve Buscemi—their heartfelt appreciation for each other is clearly what it means to be #brosforlife.
Ok, get this: David Duchovny showed up to The Webbys with his arm in a sling to present the Webby Best Actress Award to Gillian Anderson, who attended the show on crutches. We can’t make this stuff up.
Archit Bhargava accepted a Webby for Pokémon GO and left us with a cryptic 5-Word Speech. Will there be a new version of Pokémon GO? Have they created living Pokémon? Will we finally catch a Vaporeon??
