Asian Fusion

The Asian influence on buttons throughout history has been prolific, but it wasn't until the mid-1800s that the Western world saw buttons from the Eastern part of the world. This year, the Show is proud to present a collection of stunning buttons from many parts of Asia. You'll marvel at the intricate decorations found on these little gems, from hand-painted foliage to delicate cloisonné. Make sure to check out “Asian Fusion“ in the foyer.

Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art Bead Workshop

As early as the 17th century, Ukrainian women used beaded necklaces, bracelets, shirts, vests as part of their traditional dress. Different geographic areas favored their own patterns and color schemes. Various symbols were incorporated to ward off evil spirits and create peace and harmony.

In September 2013, a group of women interested in learning how to bead traditional Ukrainian "gerdany" necklaces came together to form the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art Bead Workshop. We're proud to exhibit the beautiful projects of the UIMA at the Show. You'll find these stunning works of art in the foyer.

International Society of Glass Beadmakers

The ISGB will once again offer live demonstrations every day during the Show, giving attendees the chance to see how gathers of hot molten glass, wound on a steel rod, become extraordinary wonders of wearable art. If you haven’t experienced lampworking before, you’ll be inspired by the techniques from flame to finished pieces. Experience the creativity of glass beadmakers at work and gain a better understanding of these one-of-a-kind treasures through this opportunity to visit with the artists, ask questions, and learn about their craft. Don’t miss the exciting demonstrations and all the creativity that is the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
