DA carjacking case: New Orleans police detained at least one suspect accused of carjacking District Attorney Jason Williams and his mother Monday night in the Lower Garden District. Mayor's spokesperson ousted: The New Orleans City Council voted Tuesday to suspend Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s top spokesperson without pay for the remainder of the mayor's second term. The unanimous vote means Communications Director Gregory Joseph is effectively out over his work creating a campaign-style flyer with public money during the failed recall campaign against the mayor earlier this year.
