New Israeli Face Mask Neutralizes 99% of COVID-19 Transmission

New test results from the BBI Laboratory of North Carolina back findings that Sonovia's SonoMask has been proven to successfully neutralize 99.34% of COVID-19, even after 55 wash cycles.

Israeli company Sonovia Ltd. engineered a unique reusable mask with antiviral properties that lasts over a year. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the company applied its anti-microbial technology, developed in 2013 to a line of reusable, washable face masks that destroy bacteria, fungi, and viruses including COVID-19.

Sonovia's patented ultrasound-based technology, invented by Chemistry Nobel Prize Winner Sidney Altman, embeds Zinc-Oxide nano-particles directly onto the textile. The fabric used in Sonovia's SonoMask has undergone external independent lab testing which corroborated the fabric retains its excellent antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties and successfully deactivates 99.34% of COVID-19 particles even after a year of washes (55 wash cycles, once wash per week).

Sonovia's ultrasound-based technology durably coats the individual textile fibers with its carefully engineered proprietary solutions. This ensures the fabrics stay protective for longer and allows them to be reusable and washable. Moreover, Sonovia's technology uses 50% less chemicals and 100% less chemicals binders than the current method of fabric finishing.
