A different Cup: New Orleans has hosted a lot of big-time events. Now, tourism leaders are prepping a pitch for a huge (really huge) sporting event. And no, it’s not a Super Bowl or Final Four. Air time: Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry’s use of private planes has raised some questions as he campaigns for governor, where he’s considered the front-runner. Private airplane rides have been controversial for other politicians in the past, Sam Karlin reports. Halted: A well-known New Orleans businessman embarked on ambitious plan two years ago to build a $100 million commercial property empire. That plan has since become mired in accusations of mismanagement, business writer Tony McAuley reports. Saints among Saints: The Saints have named seven team captains for the season. The captains were selected in a vote of their teammates, Jeff Duncan writes. Looks for “C” patches on their jerseys Sunday as the season opens against the Tennessee Titans in the Caesars Superdome.
