The Bishop of Worcester has just written round with what seems the good news that as well as providing more money for cathedrals, the Government will be setting up an ‘English Churches and Cathedrals Sustainability Review’.

The review group will be charged with exploring new models for sustainable funding, care for, access, and increased community use, specifically of Church of England cathedrals and church buildings.

The task force will have Church of England representation and be supported by the Cathedral and Church Buildings Division of the Archbishops’ Council.

This fits well with our diocesan strategic objective to make the most of our church buildings in not only enhancing our worship but helping us engage with our communities.
