Our hearts go out to those whose lives have been torn apart by the terrorist attacks in Brussels this week. As Good Friday approaches, those attacks are confronted by the Cross, on which Christ died to bring peace and reconciliation to us all. So on Easter day we will still celebrate, because through Christ’s death and resurrection we have the sure hope that in the end “love wins”. As we pray for the victims of this outrage, let us also pray for the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives so that in Christ we can as St Paul said be “more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
