I hope Red Bull has put more effort into its 2021 upgrades than it did with this year’s race car livery. In a year when car design developments were always going to be limited in their scope, due to the pandemic, I had hoped F1’s teams would be smart enough to put added effort into sprucing up their liveries to give fans something fresh to look at. Given Red Bull’s reputation for marketing genius, and the nicely-tweaked AlphaTauri F1 design, I was hoping we’d get something exciting – maybe even a funky camo car (which we still might see in testing) or metallic blue version like Liam Lawson’s DTM Ferrari? Er, no. Instead, we get a Honda logo in place of Aston Martin, and Telcel to herald Sergio Perez’s arrival. Thanks for nothing! Charles Bradley, Global Editor in Chief Motorsport.com |
