Monkey business: Smartphone thief revealed If your smartphone gets stolen, most manufacturers have ways to help you recover it. But what happens when the thief that takes your phone isn’t a person at all? One Maylasian student found out that it was still possible to find his phone after a renegade monkey broke into his room and stole it. Using targeted ringtones, he eventually found it buried in the mud under a palm tree near his house. But that’s not even the interesting part. As it turns out, the thief accidentally revealed himself in a series of clumsy selfies that clearly showed a monkey was to blame. The student says he thinks his phone was targeted because it was brightly colored like a fruit. Maybe it’s best not to buy Apple products if you live near monkeys.
