NEW YORK: The International Interior Design Association’s New York chapter (IIDA NY) is presenting the 20th edition of Color Invasion on Oct. 27 from 7-11 p.m. Following a two-year hiatus due to COVID, Color Invasion is returning to bring together hundreds of professionals in the Big Apple’s interior design community with the theme “intergalactic cosmic extravaganza.” IIDA NY originated in 2002 in response to the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, and the annual event aims to exemplify NYC’s commitment to community outreach.
SAVANNAH, GA.: The board of directors of Events DC has named Angie M. Gates as the new president and CEO of the official convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia, following a comprehensive national search. Gates most recently served as DC’s director of the Office of Cable, Television, Film, Music, and Entertainment. With Events DC, she will guide the organization tasked with generating economic and community benefits for DC residents and businesses through premier events beginning on Nov. 14. TAMPA: Tampa-based hospitality company Mainsail Lodging & Development has announced Jason Perkins as the general manager of The Karol Hotel. Perkins is taking the place of Adam Duffy, who is now the new general manager of the Fenway Hotel in Dunedin, Fla. In their roles, both Perkins and Duffy will oversee hiring, training, and all day-to-day operations at their respective properties.
