New York July 29, 2020 Letter from the editor: The summer heat continues and many of us remain cooped up at home. Luckily, there are a few safe ways you can get outside and check out some art. Our staff writer Valentina Di Liscia rounds up a few favorite displays of public art from the Bronx Documentary Center’s third annual Latin American Foto Fest, which has moved to billboards and other sites across the South Bronx in light of the pandemic. In more upsetting news, Valentina also reports on a “pressure campaign” taking place at Columbia University, where backlash has grown in response to a request by the Vice President of the School of Arts and Sciences. On a lighter note, I recently had a chance to speak with curator Boon Hui Tan about his love of New York, the importance of individual actions in affecting change, and his current “main obsession” — co-curating the upcoming Asia Society Triennial. Stay safe. The group of 71 educators constitutes 92% of the museum’s education staff.
