An F-22 fighter jet crashed at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. The pilot ejected and has been taken to the base hospital.

A jet with the 43rd Fighter Squadron crashed shortly after 9 a.m. Friday on the Eglin Air Force Base reservation, a base spokeswoman confirmed. The F-22 Raptor was on a routine training mission and went down 12 miles northeast of the main part of the sprawling base, in a remote part of the Eglin reservation on the Florida Panhandle.
