'Catastrophic' Hurricane Laura makes landfall as Category 4 storm in southwestern Louisiana

Laura crashed ashore early Thursday as the strongest August storm in the Gulf of Mexico since the infamous Hurricane Katrina in 2005, bringing an "unsurvivable" storm surge and “extreme” winds into Louisiana and Texas.
