Good afternoon,

Here are the headlines of the main stories affecting Scotland on a bright, but windy, Friday in May:

  • Scotland has been issued a yellow weather warning by the Met office. South Westerly winds of up to 75mph are set to hit the North West coast of the country on Friday and Saturday.
  • Part-time schooling and a four-day working week may become the new norm in Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon has said, as she unveiled a four-phase “route map” out of Coronavirus lockdown.
  • Frontline health, care and dental staff including those who work in intensive care at Scotland's largest health boards are to be recruited to take part in a groundbreaking Covid-19 vaccine trial.
  • Ruth Davidson has called for an inquiry into the care home crisis in Scotland caused by Covid-19.
  • Emma Thompson has sent a heartfelt video message to staff at the Inverclyde Royal Hospital, after donating PPE through a charity campaign.
