We want more people over 55 to share their experiences of care with us.

We need your help to understand the quality of care people get from services like hospitals, care homes, GPs - or any type of health or social care service.

We know a lot of care is being disrupted by winter pressures. People's feedback plays an important part in helping NHS decision makers to spot safety issues.

And with health and social care staff working so hard, positive feedback is just as important. It can help us recognise good practice and it helps keep up staff morale.

Winter pressures: temporary changes to the way we regulate

We will be adjusting our regulatory activity until the end of March 2023 to help providers focus on delivering care during the winter.

As a responsive regulator, we must continue to work with health and care providers to fulfil our role, while appreciating the context providers are working in.

We will always act in the best interests of people who use services so while its appropriate to recognise the need for providers to focus on delivering care, we will always balance this with our responsibility to check that the safety of people using services is maintained.

Young Champions

Weve now recruited 10 young people to join our CQC Young Champions programme. Over the past couple of months they have been learning about the work we do, from our purpose and role, to reviewing our latest State of Care report and feeding back their views.

Now they would like to introduce themselves to you, share their thoughts so far and ask you to share your ideas on the current issues or topics in health and social care affecting young people or care for young people that they should tackle with CQC.

Partners' experiences of accessing maternity services

Were working in partnership with Healthwatch Oldham, Healthwatch Rochdale and Action Together gather the views and feedback from partners who have supported people with to access maternity services. This can include attending prenatal appointments, post-natal appointments, labour and delivery.

We publishedthe latest edition of State of Carein October. The report is our annual assessment of health and social care in England, and it looks at the quality of care over the past year.

Services for survivors of human trafficking and modern slavery

We have published a report setting out findings from our inspections of safehouses and outreach support services in England and Wales.

Although we do not register or regulate this sector, the Home Office asked us to look at the quality of support for survivors who use these services as part of the Modern Slavery Victim Care Contract (MSVCC).

A team of our specialist inspectors carried out the inspections between January 2021 and June 2022.

The evidence from our programme of inspections points to a sector that is providing a good service, but some areas needed to improve to ensure that survivors and their families received safe support.
