| | | | | | Ask Dr. Wolle – Posters in the GDR | | | | |
| | How did posters influence everyday life in the GDR? Official motifs for Republic Day, 1 May or the party conferences characterised the streetscape. Socialist heroes such as Ernst Thälmann were deliberately staged to strengthen the ideological foundation. But what effect did these images really have on people? Was the enthusiasm genuine – or just a façade? 🤔 In the new episode of »Ask Dr. Wolle«, we take a look at the poster world of the GDR: from festive productions to the last major propaganda attempts for the 40th anniversary of the GDR. Watch now and join in the discussion! The video has English subtitles. | | | | |
