Mid Year Reporting to Parents We have had, as usual, an impressive turn out to our Parents' Deep Dive last week and to our parent/teacher conferences as well. Every child has had their report emailed via our Edge portal. If you haven't received yours or cannot access it please let us know. Thanks so much for supporting your children, as they love sharing their learning journey with you, and thanks for connecting with teachers around your child's learning. Please note that communication between school and home is a huge factor in a child's engagement in school and with their progress and achievement. If you have anything you wish to know more about, or have a question about, please email your child's teacher at any time during the year, or arrange to catch up for a face to face meeting. We value our learning partnerships with parents. Inclusive Practices Survey We had 25% of our families complete this survey, and the NZCER reports will be printed this week. The leadership team will analyse the results and produce a report summary which we will share with you via the newsletter early next term, and the Board at their first meeting next term. Matariki Once again we have had amazing feedback from our parent community about the professional, precise and passionate performance of our Kapa haka group at Matariki. Anne is our teacher who leads Kapa haka and does such a wonderful job of this. Well done again Anne. Today Anne and the Kapa haka group are participating at the Mata-au Kapa Haka festival at the Lake Wānaka Centre and one lucky parent from each member of our group has a ticket to watch their performance this evening. I went to the Mata-au performance today and their performance brought tears to my eyes...They were perfect! School Holidays...yay! A reminder that school finishes at 3pm this Friday 5th, being the last day of Term 2. Term 3 starts on Monday 22nd July. It is dance week for the first 2 weeks of Term 3 with a performance of our dances for parents planned for Friday 2nd August. We also have the Music Festival, Swim Sports, CO Chess Tournament, the snow and school based EOTC programme, an author visit, Wana-Be-A-Star, MoE Teacher Only Day (6th September), assemblies, PTA Fathers Day Breakie and the PTA Quiz evening all happening in Term 3, along with all of our business as usual learning in the classroom. I hope our children get lots of R&R in the holidays as they will need all the energy they can muster for a full term ahead. |

Wana-Be-A-Star Wana-Be-A-Star is back! This is a fabulous opportunity for students to share their performing talents through magic acts, singing, instrument playing, dancing, mime, puppet shows... or you could surprise us! Items can be performed individually or in pairs, or groups. Pod auditions will be held during Week 4 of Term 3, with finalists chosen to perform their item in the grand final on August 30th. Students are asked to prepare their item at home and may need some support with costumes, props and selecting age-appropriate music, etc. Entry forms will be available from school reception from Week 1 of next term. We can't wait to see their amazing talents on stage! |

Positive Behaviour For Learning - PB4L PB4L School-Wide looks at behaviour and learning from a whole-of-school as well as an individual child perspective. The framework is based on international evidence and is helping New Zealand schools build a culture where positive behaviour and learning is a way of life. Each fortnight we focus on a school wide goal to encourage positive behaviours. The current goal is: 'We take care of our school and use spaces and equipment for their purpose'. |
