School Uniform Please note that we expect children to be in school uniform every day and if there is a reason why a different colour is worn or a patterned jumper is worn, parents need to email the teacher. We do not want to see children in hot pink tights, or bright yellow socks or bandanas or hats on their heads. Please keep to our school colours. We want our children looking smart right up until the last day of the year, especially our Year 6 students so please support us with this. Maths is Cool It is so heart warming to see smiles and excitement when students come in to show me the maths they have been working on. The work teachers have done to include their learning about the teaching of maths this year is definitely benefitting our students. Check out this group of Year 4s who shared their maths work with me...great solutions to a challenge to use 3 numbers and any operation to give totals for numbers from 1-100. The challenge is called 'Numble'. PTA Events Well done to the PTA for holding another great Fathers Day Breakfast and thanks to all the dads who turned up and made their kids' day. It is so nice having you back in school again. Our next PTA event is a sausage sizzle to be held on our 'Dress like a Pirate Day' on Friday 23rd September. All of that week, from Monday 19th through to Friday 23rd, we will be having a bit of literacy fun around our 'Talk Like a Pirate Week' theme, so pirate books, poems, sea shanties etc will be enjoyed and anything to do with pirates celebrated. (I bet Dave will come up with some pirate jokes for us all as well). Friday 23rd will also include a Tribe afternoon based on pirate team games of course. The PTA, with the help of staff, are organising a Kiwiana Quiz evening for parents on Saturday 12th November. This will be held in our school hall starting from 7pm. Great questions, great people and great food, and not a child in sight - what more could you wish for on a Saturday night? Book this date into your diary now. Week 3 EOTC - Year 4 Digi Group |

Positive Behaviour For Learning - PB4L PB4L School-Wide looks at behaviour and learning from a whole-of-school as well as an individual child perspective. The framework is based on international evidence and is helping New Zealand schools build a culture where positive behaviour and learning is a way of life. Each fortnight we focus on a school wide goal to encourage positive behaviours. The current goal is: 'We take care of our school and use spaces and equipment for their purpose'. |
