| Lack of Coverage Fox News programmers decided to largely ignore slain Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick lying in state in the Capitol Rotunda. Sicknick died of head injuries sustained on January 6 while he defended the Capitol from pro-Trump insurrectionists who stormed the building in a violent attempt to overturn the 2020 election. His remains arrived at the Capitol at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, and President Joe Biden joined Congressional lawmakers and law enforcement officials in paying their respects to Sicknick. The ceremony was carried live by CNN and MSNBC. Over at Fox, however, the network’s focus on the ceremony was sporadic.
Observe the 6th NBC News presidential historian Michael Beschloss called for the country to treat the Capitol insurrection as the same kind of momentous historical event as the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
"Conceivably, this could have taken away our democracy, and this is one reason why I think we have to observe the 6th of January every single year as a time that we had a very close call to remind us that we have to be eternally vigilant because democracy is fragile," said Beschloss speaking to Rachel Maddow.

Michael Bloomberg is pleading for Biden to get children back to school as soon as possible.
“It’s time for Joe Biden to stand up and say ‘the kids are the most important things,'” Bloomberg said. “And the teachers are just going to have to suck it up and stand up and provide an education. Otherwise, these kids have no chance whatsoever. It is a disaster what’s happening to them.”
