July Happenings

We recently had the opportunity to chat with a group of early-stage companies about a topic near and dear to our hearts: The tradeshow industry. What seemed like a straightforward ask quickly revealed something deeper about Newtopia Now's unique approach to bringing the industry together.

Why is defining a tradeshow challenging?

There’s the traditional definition: Tradeshow / Noun / an exhibition at which businesses in a particular industry promote their products and services.

But Newtopia Now transcends this definition—focusing not just on promoting products but on building relationships that set companies up for long-term success rather than brief transactional interactions.

For those new to our community, Newtopia Now represents an evolution of how the CPG industry comes together, introduced last year following the sunsetting of Natural Products Expo East. Our inaugural event was a tremendous success, welcoming over 7,000 attendees, including more than 4,000 registered buyers and 560 exhibiting companies (180 of which were first-time exhibitors). We're once again excited to welcome you to the Colorado Convention Center in Denver on August 20-22, 2025, for this reimagined experience that's entering its second year.

At Newtopia Now, our goal is to get exhibitors and buyers thinking about and experiencing tradeshows in a different way. Yes, it's about discovery. This is a core part of the event, especially with so many new-to-market companies launching their innovations.

But discovery can only mean so much if it's not happening in the greater context of relationship building, storytelling and unique and lasting experiences. We are constantly discovering new things—information, ideas, products, are all at our fingertips. But what leaves an impression is how you feel when you make that discovery and what that discovery sparks inside you.

Even the idea of who is discovering what is being flipped on its head. For example, at Newtopia Now, we encourage the buyers to become the sellers in a sense—sharing their stories and what makes them unique. This creates a more informed marketplace where brands first listen to what it is that buyers are truly looking for before trying to get onto their shelves.

This year's programming will bring to the stage GNC, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Target and more retailers to share what they look for in new and innovative brands, which initiatives they'll be leaning into in the years ahead and what makes for a truly fruitful long-lasting partnership.

When it comes to how brands show up, we encourage them to think (and act) beyond the booth. Staffing your booth is important, but so too is getting out there—sharing your story through a Stoop Talk, sampling at a happy hour or educating from the stages, all options we've made simple to incorporate into your packages.

A highlight you won't want to miss is "The Market"—our innovative approach to product discovery where attendees explore offerings in a grocery store-like environment. Products feature QR codes linking to discovery profiles, creating a seamless connection between physical sampling and digital information. This complements our intentionally curated neighborhood format, which organizes the show floor into three distinct areas: Thrive (exploring the future of human health), Regenerate (championing sustainability and environmental impact), and Glow (featuring conscious beauty and holistic wellness).

What else sets Newtopia Now apart is our curated meetings between brands and buyers. We've developed sophisticated systems to ensure you connect with exactly the right partners for your business goals, maximizing the value of every conversation. This sets the stage for deeper conversations that can either lead to an immediate business relationship or set the stage for one down the road.

And much of the magic really will happen when you least expect it—at the Neighborhood Networking night, a volunteer outlining or a dine-around.

So, when it comes to tradeshows, we think it's less about promoting and more about celebrating the future of an entire industry, together. Now, the question burning on everyone’s mind: Is Newtopia Now a tradeshow? Well, yes. And no.

Mark your calendars for Newtopia Now, August 20-22, 2025 in Denver, Colorado. We'll be bringing back all the experiences you loved—our signature community-centered format, the Conscious Beauty & Wellness Pitch Event, The Market's innovation showcase, intimate Dine-Around, the inspiring Women in CPG brunch and many more community experiences that made year one so special.
