NHTV’s master’s programmes in demand with international students

For next academic year, the Master in Imagineering has attracted candidates from various countries, such as Indonesia, China, Brazil, Colombia and Germany. A similar situation holds true for the Master in Media Innovation. The group of students on the Master in Tourism Destination Management comprised as many as 18 different nationalities last year! And this year, things seem to be heading in the same direction. Every year, it turns out that the different nationalities working together, the different cultures mixing in the academic setting, leads to more creativity as well as an enrichment of the master’s programmes.

Design thinking is all the rage

‘Analytical thinking refines current knowledge, producing small improvements in the status quo. This works just fine if you want to implement gradual yet far-reaching changes, but it won’t produce any breakthrough innovations.’ Thus Roger Martin, Professor of strategic management at the Rotman School of Management in Toronto. He studied organisations that use design thinking to create real innovations. ‘The result is that productivity grows and costs drop – creating massive value for companies.’ Design Thinking is one of the subjects covered in NHTV's Master in Imagineering.
